In your recommendation letter, please be as specific as you can be in helping the CRC to assess the student’s potential in regard not only to having a successful internship experience, but also in regard to their potential for a career in environmental leadership, whether in research, management, policy or otherwise. Of particular interest to us are (1) their ability to work well with others and contribute to team science; (2) their aptitude for science as related to research and/or management applications, and (3) their potential to contribute toward diversity and inclusivity within academic, management, and other professional careers relating to environmental understanding, protection and restoration. Please also note that we are looking for at least one recommender to confirm commitment to serve as a point of contact for CRC during the year following your internship and (ideally) as a proactive mentor for ongoing professional development. If you and the applicant have discussed your taking this role, please address this point in your letter.
