Impacts of COVID-19 on Local Governments
May 24, 2021 - May 24, 2021The impacts of COVID-19 have played out in many ways across the Chesapeake Bay and its watershed, including affecting local governments and their ability to accomplish the requirements and goals set by the 2010 Total Maximum Daily Load and 2014 Chesapeake Bay Agreement. This workshop is one of three “mini-workshops” aimed to explore some of these impacts in greater detail, with this session focused on the pandemic’s effect on local government. The goal is to explore lessons learned from the past year and how this might inform management of the Chesapeake Bay going forward, including economic and societal considerations. Please join the Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee (STAC), the Local Government Advisory Committee (LGAC), and the Local Leadership Workgroup, in this effort to better understand the influence of COVID-19 on local governments and Bay Program management. Note: this meeting is open to the public.
