Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences‘ Center for Professional Development has partnered with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to educate agriculture teachers from across the state on the importance of watershed education.
170 high school agriculture teachers visited Harrisburg to learn about Meaningful Watershed Educational Experiences, which are investigative or experimental projects focused on teaching students about the Bay.
CBF was excited to be involved, as this curriculum helped prepare teachers who will engage future agriculturalists. Teachers learned about the state’s relationship to the Bay, reducing pollution, field-based learning, and environmental stewardship. The partnership hopes that teachers will take these lessons to the classroom to help their students become the best stewards of the Bay.
