Chesapeake Waters and Their Caretakers: Three Stories From Three Perspectives

To celebrate Earth Day, we reflected on decades of Chesapeake Bay restoration efforts informed by the journeys of three panelists with multidimensional experiences in various components of the Bay health effort, including the Bay Program, research, and activism. We asked our community to reflect on the Chesapeake Bay preservation and restoration effort and discuss how far we’ve come, what lessons we’ve learned, and what we still have to do to protect and restore the Bay.

This was a special, extended Earth Day conversation that took place on Wednesday, April 21st, from 12-1:30 pm.

Speakers:

  • Fred Tutman, Patuxent Riverkeeper
  • Carl Hershner, Virginia Institute of Marine Science
  • Carin Bisland, Chesapeake Bay Program
