Expertise : Biogeochemistry, Climate/Weather Impact Analysis (biochemistry and living resources), Coastal/Estuarine Sampling and Monitoring, Dead Zones, Ecological Modeling, Ecology, Nutrient Cycling, Nutrient Pollution, Oceanography, Seagrass, Water Quality
Chesapeake Management Areas : Water Quality, Climate Resiliency |
Research interests : Coastal marine ecology, including eutrophication, nutrient cycling, and dissolved oxygen dynamics. We are especially interested in the interactions between biological, chemical, and physical processes in coastal ecosystems. We use a combination of experimental efforts, historical data analysis, and coupled biogeochemical-hydrodynamic modeling studies to examine these aspects of estuarine and coastal aquatic science.

Renee T. Worked for the U.S. Geological Survey as a Geographer, based at the Chesapeake Bay Program, in Annapolis, MD prior to joining the ICPRB team. She has a B.S. In Global Environmental Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and holds a Master's of Community Planning (with a focus on Land Use and the Environment) from the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at the University of Maryland. Renee T. Worked on mapping and modeling land use change in the Chesapeake bay, maintained datasets related to protected lands and federal lands, conducted research related to infill and redevelopment, mapping and modeling healthy watersheds and vulnerability. She served also served as the Coordinator of the Chesapeake Bay Program's Maintain Healthy Watershed Goal Implementation Team. Renee T. is passionate about land preservation and clean water. In her spare time, she enjoys camping, stand up paddleboarding, swimming and spending time with her kids. She resides in Northeast, Washington, D.C.
