Allison Welch
Location : Chesapeake Bay Program Offices Position : Environmental Management Staffer - Scientific and Technical Assessment and Reporting Team (STAR) Email : awelch@chesapeakebay.net Bio : Allison Welch joined the Chesapeake Research Consortium’s Environmental Management Career Development Program in January 2025 as a Scientific, Technical Assessment and Reporting Team Staffer for the Chesapeake Bay Program. Allison is working within the Criteria Assessment Protocol Workgroup, Data Integrity Workgroup, Bay Oxygen Research Group, and the Hypoxia Collaborative.
Allison graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 2024 with a degree in Earth Sciences, a minor in Sustainability, and a certificate in Geographic Information Sciences. Allison has previously worked with the CRC through the C-StREAM program, where she served as the Clean Water Program Intern for the Izaak Walton League of America. While at Penn State, Allison worked as a Part-time Geographer with the GeoGraphics Lab. Upon graduation, she joined the Chesapeake Conservation and Climate Corps where she was placed with the Maryland Clean Energy Center’s Equity Outreach and Community Development Team.
Allison’s passion for the Bay comes from a childhood spent on the Potomac River and a love for science. Outside of CRC and CBP, Allison enjoys running (she just ran her first half marathon), spending time with her friends, and going to sports games, especially Penn State football.
