Bio : Erin Sonnenburg is a staffer with the Chesapeake Research Consortium. She is responsible for providing support to the GIT6 and Local Leadership Workgroup, as well as the Principals’ Staff Committee and Management Board. With CRC, she hopes to gain more experience working alongside local government officials, producing engaging multimedia content, and learning more about soil and water toxicology. In 2021, she graduated from James Madison University with a public policy and administration analysis major and an environmental studies minor. While attending university, she acted as secretary for the student government association and academic chair for Delta Gamma Fraternity. In her last year at JMU, she attended the university’s Washington Internship Semester, where she interned with the Virginia Clean Cities Coalition. Erin describes herself as an extroverted introvert. She enjoys gardening, knitting and crafting, and being active in her community. Her favorite pastime is frequenting antique stores and finding trinkets to disassemble and turn into jewelry. If she could go anywhere, at any time of the day, it would be the Torpedo Factory, in old town Alexandria, to enjoy some art and converse with local artists.
