Jackie Pickford
Location : Chesapeake Bay Program Offices Position : Environmental Management Staffer - Protect and Restore Water Quality Goal Implementation Team Email : pickford.jacqueline@epa.gov Bio : Jackie Pickford joined the Chesapeake Research Consortium in February 2021 as a staffer for the Chesapeake Bay Program’s Water Quality Goal Implementation Team.
Jackie graduated from James Madison University in 2019 with a major in Integrated Science and Technology (ISAT), concentrating in Environmental Studies, and a minor in Science, Technology, and Society (STS). Her interdisciplinary degree focused on integrating science and technological factors with political, social, economic, and ethical considerations to solve complex, real-world problems. Her educational background prompted her interest in working to strengthen collaboration across disciplines to induce lasting systemic change. After graduating, she worked for an environmental justice non-profit, ECO City Farms, located in Prince George’s County, MD, as an Environmental Educator and Urban Agriculture Leader.
Jackie is deeply passionate about creating positive change, generating holistic, creative solutions, and protecting our natural world with strength and compassion. Outside of work, her hobbies include painting, drawing, growing her own food, and spending time outdoors.
