Bio :

Gabriella Giordano joined the Chesapeake Research Consortium in 2025 as the Chesapeake Student Recruitment, Early Advisement, and Mentoring (C-StREAM) Program Coordinator. As a recent Knauss Fellow, Gabriella brings both personal and professional experience to this role, driven by a deep passion for supporting the next generation of environmental leaders.

Gabriella earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography from Villanova University in 2020. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Marine Science at the University of Georgia in 2023. While studying the marine environment, she had the chance to dive into hands-on research in wetland biogeochemistry, studying marsh ecosystems from Plum Island, Massachusetts, to Sapelo Island, Georgia. Over the last year as a Knauss Fellow, Gabriella honed her skills in communications and project management while working with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) Center for Satellite Applications and Research (STAR).

A proud alumna of both Villanova and Georgia, Gabriella likes to think she brought a little extra luck to their sports teams—Villanova secured a national basketball championship during her time there, and Georgia clinched national football championships during her graduate studies. When she isn’t working or being a good luck charm, Gabriella enjoys sipping on coffee, indulging in reality TV, and seeking adventures in the great outdoors.
