C-StREAM Update: Applications are open and due February 15th!
The Chesapeake Student Recruitment, Early Advisement, and Mentoring (C-StREAM) program is focused on recruiting, advising, and mentoring talented college students, particularly from groups typically underrepresented in the sciences, to pursue careers in environmental protection and restoration.
This summer, 9 positions are available at CRC member institutions, the Chesapeake Bay Program Office, and at the NOAA Chesapeake Bay Office (NCBO). Each intern will receive $5000-6000 plus housing, travel, and food. Undergraduates at any level are encouraged to apply.
The 2020 C-StREAM program will offer 9 fellowship opportunities
- 3 Positions with the EPA CBPO in Annapolis, MD
- 2 Positions with the NCBO in Annapolis and Oxford, MD
- 4 Positions with CRC member institutions. (Seven positions listed and four of these positions will be filled via C-StREAM Fellows, with locations dependent on match of student-mentor interests.)
- University of Maryland’s IMET location in Baltimore, MD – Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology Summer Fellowship
- Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA – An Interdisciplinary Program at Old Dominion University for the Study of Metropolitan Coastal Environments and Communities
- Position at Penn State University in State College, PA – Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Climate Science
- Smithsonian Institution’s SERC facilities in Edgewater, MD – Global Change Ecology
- UMES campus in Princess Anne, MD – Research Experiences for Undergraduates in Marine and Estuarine Science
- Chesapeake Biological Laboratory in Solomons, MD – Undergraduate Research Experiences in Estuarine Processes
- Virginia Institute of Marine Science campus in Gloucester, VA – Summer Fellowship Program
