Bio :

Nora Jackson joined CRC as staff for the Chesapeake Bay program office supporting the Maintain Healthy Watersheds Goal Implementation Team (HWGIT) in May 2019. In addition, Nora supports the Forestry, Federal Facilities, Urban Tree Canopy workgroups as well as assisting with GIS work.

Nora graduated from the College of William and Mary in 2015 with a degree in Government and Environmental Science and Policy, including a field semester living and working in an ecovillage in Iceland. She has always been passionate about the environment, having grown up in Williamsburg, VA and spending her childhood hiking in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia and exploring the York and James rivers. She has a particular interest in forestry and sustainable agriculture, and was able to explore that working for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation with the Farm Stewardship team. She compiled a diverse work experience in the watershed from private, non-profit, and state agencies, most recently at MD Department of Natural Resources. Her work for the state took her all over the Eastern Shore and Southern Maryland inspecting conservation easements for the Maryland Environmental Trust.

Nora spends any minute she can backpacking in the Blue Ridge, hunting for shark teeth, seeing live music, and playing bluegrass on her mandolin and guitar (preferably in rocking chair on a porch with a nice view).
